What you are buying

What one verification covers

One verification is one applicant, from the moment their documents arrive to the moment you close the file. Nothing here is metered separately.

01

Documents arrive

Send the applicant a secure request and they upload directly, or upload the documents yourself. Either way they land in private, access-controlled storage.

02

Information extracted

Income figures, pay periods, employer details, account balances, and deposit activity are read out of each document.

03

Consistency checked

The extracted information is checked within each document and across all of them — income against deposits, the employer on the stub against the payroll source on the statement.

04

Findings assembled

Findings are grouped by category, each carrying the document values that produced it.

05

You review

Work through the findings, add notes, ask for another document if you need one, and close it out. Every step is recorded.

Inside one verification

What the $11.99 actually buys

Finding: Total deposits for the statement period exceed the gross income figure from the submitted pay stub. This may reflect additional income sources not documented in submitted materials. Manual review recommended to clarify the deposit composition.

In the application, the report, timeline, document status, and review workflow appear together in a two-column workspace — organized for fast, structured review decisions. See a full sample report.

Included in every pack

What you get for each verification

The same capabilities at every tier. Larger packs cost less per verification; they do not unlock anything extra.

Ask the applicant directly

Send a secure document request from the workspace. The applicant uploads to Fidem without creating an account, you watch the status, and you resend if it goes quiet.

Income and employer details, read out for you

Employer, gross and net pay, pay frequency, and year-to-date figures come off the pay stubs, with anything that does not add up between the current period and the YTD total called out.

Bank activity matched against the stubs

Payroll deposits and balance patterns are read from the bank statements and lined up against stated income, including whether the employer paying in matches the one on the pay stub.

Employment letter and ID compared too

When the applicant provides them, the letter and the ID are compared against the rest of the file — employer, name, stated compensation — and the ID is checked for expiry. Nothing is confirmed with an employer or an issuing agency.

A record you can go back to

Start a review, add notes, ask for more documentation, close it out. Every action is stamped with who did it and when, and the record stays with the verification.

A second attempt when a document is poor

If a document cannot be read — quality, format, or content — it is surfaced plainly in the workspace and you can retry or swap in a replacement.

How Fidem handles your data

Designed for sensitive document workflows

Rental verification involves real applicant documents. Every design decision in Fidem starts from that responsibility.

Private document storage

All submitted documents are stored in a private, access-controlled storage bucket. Documents are never publicly accessible. Download links are signed and short-lived.

Structured checkout via Stripe

Purchases are processed through Stripe. No payment information is handled or stored by Fidem. Your billing data stays with Stripe.

Credits are valid for 36 months

Purchased verification credits stay available for 36 months from the date of purchase, shared across your organization. The oldest credits are always used first, so nothing lapses while newer credits sit unused. If unused credits do expire, contact Fidem Support to request reinstatement.

Landlord retains full decision authority

Fidem surfaces verification signals from submitted documents. It does not score, rank, or recommend applicants. All tenancy decisions are made by the landlord or property manager — not by Fidem.

No credit bureau or background check data

Fidem does not access credit bureau data, eviction history, or any regulatory consumer reporting data. It processes only the documents an applicant submits directly.

Complete review audit trail

Every action in a verification workflow is recorded: who did what, when. The review history is append-only and cannot be modified after the fact.

Frequently asked

Questions before you buy

What counts as one verification?
One verification is one rental applicant, from the moment their documents arrive to the moment you close the file. Asking that applicant for another document partway through does not cost a second one.
How long does it take?
Usually two to five minutes from the documents arriving to the findings being ready. Poor-quality scans and unusual formats take longer.
Can the applicant send documents to Fidem instead of to me?
Yes, and most landlords prefer it. You send a secure request by email and the applicant uploads straight to Fidem — no account for them to create, and nothing sensitive left sitting in your inbox.
What if a document cannot be read?
It is surfaced plainly in the workspace rather than quietly skipped. You can retry processing or ask for a replacement.
Do verification credits expire?
Yes. Unused credits expire 36 months after purchase. Your oldest credits are always used first, so a balance you keep drawing on does not lapse. If you have expired unused credits, contact Fidem Support to request reinstatement.
What if I need more than five verifications?
Talk to us. Above roughly 25 verifications we price against your actual volume rather than selling you a pack that does not fit.
Are verifications shared across my organization?
Yes. Everyone in your organization draws from the same balance.
Does Fidem make tenancy decisions?
No. Fidem reports what the documents say and whether they agree with each other. The decision is yours.
Which documents can Fidem check?
Pay stubs and bank statements, which are needed for a verification to proceed, plus employment letters and government ID when the applicant provides them. Files can be PDF, JPEG, or PNG, and should be legible and complete.
